Breakfast with Tiffany

Breakfast with Tiffany:
Don't Pass on Planning

Over the past year and the changes in the economy I have seen an interesting change in the wedding market. Im not talking about the normal downsizing of budgets or even the number of couples pushing their big day back until late 2010 or 2011. What I saw was quite puzzling, many brides that would normally have hired a wedding planner chose to forgo or hire a Day of planner or slash person (a term I will explain later in this article). Now first and foremost I must say that I am not writing this segment for selfish reasons, but rather out of necessity.

Wedding Planning: Dazzling Details

Breakfast with Tiffany: Dazzling Details:
In the grand scheme of wedding design there are various elements that are considered the staples of décor that help create the brides vision of her dream wedding. Some of these elements are linens, centerpieces, lighting, and candles. However, it is the smaller details and extra little touches that help pull all of the design elements together to create a polished and personal vision for the bride and her guests.

A Lust for Lighting

Breakfast with Tiffany: A Lust for Lighting
Todays weddings are much more like productions than the white weddings of yesteryearwhen our parents got married the linens, flowers, food, and the big band were the elements that set the ambiance. Todays bride looks beyond these elements and often sets her sights on the magical aspect of specialty lighting. Not to say that these aspects are no longer important as they will always be the staple of décor but with lighting these elements will shine in ways your guests never thought possible.

Beyond Platinum Weddings: Dream Designing part 2

Beyond Platinum Weddings: Dream Designing my own Big Day {part 2}
Whew, so much has happened since segment one. In fact, as I write this segment on the plane ride home from the West Indies (after a very successful planning and overindulgent wedding tasting trip for a client as if I needed any more stress, I had to go consume the weight of a kindergartener in food, and I have two gowns to fit into...ugh!), it suddenly hit me. OOMMGG... I am one week away from my wedding!! I have written about it, I have talked about it, even facebooked and twittered about it, but this is the first time that it sunk in and touched me to my core that I am truly 7 days till I DO!

Wedding Destinations: Beach

Destination: "Beach Chic"
Kim and Paul wanted a beach wedding, but still wanted to keep it reasonably formal. Knowing that most of the guests were from out of town, they wanted a larger resort type property with all of the amenities, so the guests could make a mini vacation out of the trip. It was also important to the couple that they have the ceremony on the beach, toes in the sand, and the reception indoors at the same venue. So we set off to find a beach location that would suit their needs.

Andrea and Will knew that they would need a planner that is a destination wedding specialist to help bring their spectacular plans to fruition. So, thats when they called on me to manage, plan, and design their wedding.
